2014
A Vision Takes Shape
Pearl Representation was founded by Rakesh Joomuck, drawing on years of experience across aviation and tourism. His idea was straightforward but ambitious: give international Destination Management Companies a dedicated route into the UK market through focused sales, marketing and business development. What began in the MICE sector soon broadened into leisure and luxury travel, as Pearl earned the trust of tour operators, travel designers and agents throughout the UK.
2016–2021
Widening Our Reach
As more DMCs sought a UK foothold, our portfolio grew to span Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. It was during these years that Matthew Walker joined as Commercial Director, sharpening our commercial approach and helping accelerate growth across every region we served. Together, this period cemented the reputation Pearl is still known for today — dependable partnerships, hands-on service and results our partners could measure.
2022
A New Collection Is Born
Recognising a growing need for hotel representation, we launched Pearl Global Collection to champion exceptional hotels, resorts and hospitality brands in the UK market. Sitting alongside our established Pearl DMC Collection, it gave us a distinctive two-sided portfolio — one that connects the UK travel trade with both outstanding destinations and world-class places to stay.
2023
A Second Home in Mauritius
Opening our Mauritius office brought us closer to partners across the Indian Ocean and deepened our international footprint. For founder Rakesh Joomuck — proudly Mauritian himself — it was more than a business decision. It was a chance to give back to the destination and the people who first sparked his love of travel and tourism.
2024
A Decade of Partnership
2024 marked ten years of Pearl Representation, celebrated alongside the clients, partners and friends who helped write our story. A company that started as a focused MICE representation specialist has become a respected international name, representing leading DMCs, distinctive hotels and hospitality brands across the world.
2025
Deepening Our Roots
Rakesh Joomuck and Matthew Walker took on shareholder roles at Emotions DMC in Mauritius, a move that reinforced Pearl's long-term commitment to the destination. The partnership sharpened collaboration, added local destination expertise, and opened new strategic doors for our partners and clients alike.
